About Dr. Hugh Bradley
Dr. Bradley grew up in Donegal and graduated in Dentistry from Trinity College Dublin with honours in 1978 having won the Sheldon Friel prize. Later, after working in surgery at the Dublin Dental Hospital and in general dental practice in Enniskillen, he undertook specialist training in orthodontics at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and the Royal College of Surgeons in London. Thoroughly enjoying the aesthetic portion of dentistry and appreciating the mechanics of good bites, he earned a Specialist qualification in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 1981 .
Dr Bradley opened a specialist practice in orthodontics in Newry in 1982 and in Dundalk in 1983. Experienced, professional and caring. Dr Bradley has been in specialist practice limited to orthodontics in Dundalk for over 25 years and has thoroughly enjoyed working with the young people of the North East. Recent years have seen an increase in the number of adults seeking orthodontic treatment. New techniques such as Ceramic braces, Invisalign and lingual braces have been introduced to cater specifically to adults concerns. He is a founding director of the SMILES and Town Dental group, Irelands largest dental care provider.
He is Past President of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland. A member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and the World Federation of Orthodontists as well as the Irish Dental Association where he served on Council for many years. He is a registered Specialist in orthodontics. He has lectured on and has published articles on the Use of technology in Dentistry, on Non-compliance Orthodontics, Early treatment in Orthodontics and Invisalign treatment.
He lives in Dundalk with his wife, artist Abigail O’Brien.
